Eine zu hohe Dosierung (Einzeldosierung höher als 800 mg) von Beta Alanin kann zu einem Kribbeln im Nackenbereich und in den Arme führen, was als akute Paräthesie beschrieben wird. Außerdem kann es zu juckender, brennender Kopfhaut führen und zu Übelkeit. Alle drei Beschwerden werden als unbedenklich beschrieben man sollte sich dennoch an die Dosierung halten, die im nächsten Paragraph folgt.
